Bunk Beds For Adults Ok?
I am in a bit of a dilemma. After a long four years of college, I finally graduated from NYU and located into a small studio apartment. With little money and even more little belongings, the studio seemed so empty with no furniture. The only furniture I had were small run down furniture from my college days and it is definitely time that I step it up and remodel this studio into a nice bachelor pad! Here is where the dilemma comes in. Like stated before, tiny studio apartment may be an understatement as to how small exactly this apartment is. At a measly 250 square feet, it would be a miracle to fit in standard furniture such as a couch and a bed.
Now, I know there is definitely a stigma against having a bunk bed as a grown adult, but would it really be that bad? I mean, they are normally associate with children the ages of 5 to 10, but a proper full size bed for an adult wouldn’t be too bad right? I personally find it to be a great option! As I said before, my apartment is tiny! An adult bunk bed in the form of a loft bed or a futon bed would save me a ton of space and I would be able to optimize my space very efficiently. A loft bed would able me to have a full office desk under my bed, thus saving a lot of space! Another option would be to have a futon bed which would enable me to have a bed and a couch in the same amount of space! Plus, I personally find sleek metal bunk bed to be rather appealing!
So of course if I were to buy a bunk bed based on these factors, it would be an obvious choice. Now, as a 24 year old male, it worries me that my social life will suffer from this. While it may save me quite a bit of space, bunk beds will only deter friends and just as importantly, girlfriends, from coming over.
Well, it is definitely time for me to do some thinking. Even though this is not really a life changing decision, it may be a very important decision that I must consider!
